January 2007: An Inconvenient Truth

Everyone is hocking me to see the movie An Inconvenient Truth. "It's with Al Gore." No wonder I don't want to see it. An Inconvenient Truth is Albert Gore's attempt to attach himself to the environmental movement. Moreover, liberals are falling for it right and ... right.

Gore was elected president in 2000 but was too cowardly to take office (likewise Kerry in 2004), and is no environmentalist. Nuclear power, which he supports and promotes, is not environmental by any logical measure. It is part of the system of misery, oppression and death that attempts to destroy our connection with the Earth. The system that digs into Her sacred body to extract "resources" of fossil fuel and uranium, then rents these literal poisons back to us as "energy." Gore is no different from any of the other interchangeable bozos of the ruling class, Democrat or Republican.

Here's some more inconvenient truth. Gore not only supports nuclear power, he otherwise has no environmental credentials whatsoever. Contact a genuine environmental organization, like Earth First!, Live Wild or Die, or the Earth Liberation Front. What do these groups say about Gore? That he is no different from any other politician, or that he is irrelevant to environmental concerns. The Sierra Club however loves Gore. But the Sierra Club is not an environmental organization. Rather, it represents the Democrat Party to the environmental movement.

Further inconvenience for Gore: like the fraud occupying the White House today, he is a born-again Christian. His wife Tipper is responsible for the racist labeling of hip-hop CDs. As Vice-president to the Butcher of Belgrade, he illegally solicited campaign donations. When confronted, he at first denied it, then attempted to excuse it by claiming he "didn't know it was illegal." Punishment? His wrist wasn't even slapped; the campaign merely returned the money.

Gore has never been an environmentalist and has not suddenly become one. He certainly hasn't become one by claiming the title without anything at all to back it up except paying to attach himself to this movie. President George Bush (the elected one) claimed to save America's wetlands by redefining some wetlands out of existence. Gore's political advisors are trying the same shell game. More importantly, to what purpose? He already was elected president, and he threw it away, because the continued rule of what Pam Africa calls "this rotten-ass system" is more important to Albert Gore than the will of the people.

Why even waste your time? Skip this movie, and don't be fooled again. Demand environmental justice. If it isn't forthcoming soon enough, take it. It's getting late in history. The time to join together and disengage from the monster is now. Let's build the world of life, health, and justice we want, starting today.
