"Mine is a campaign of bright angels and not the darker impulses of our lower natures".
When I first heard then candidate George W. Bush utter those words to me and a great many others gathered together to support him in Manchester, NH, in January of 2000, I believed in him. I cannot believe in him any longer. When George Bush walked by me I said five words to him "God bless you Mr. President" because I knew he was about to become the President of The United States of America. Why, because we all believed in him.
I also heard the President of the United States go on to invoke the name of Jesus Christ during his re-election, and I watched with great interest as he appeared to know the man personally. Yet, I find it very hard to reconcile the peace and truth of Christ with the deceit, manipulation, and control, I have seen from this administration. This is not an administration of bright angels but has turned into something even darker than any of us could have imagined. We as Americans are aghast to see our Federal Government manipulating and controlling the media and the free press, and we are aghast to see the withholding of information from the American public and the callous disregard for human suffering and loss of lives in Iraq, New Orleans, and Louisiana. I too read my Bible, and it tells me that you shall know them by their fruits and it also tells me, beware of he that sows doubt and discord among the people. Where are we as Americans to take our Country back? Where are we as the People to make sure our children, and our grandchildren and future generations know God, America and Freedom just as we all knew it because of the fight and sacrifice of my father, your father and everyone else's father who was willing to risk everything for God, Freedom, their Country, and their fellow man?
Where are we? The government, this administration and elected officials will not give us our Country back, we must all work together to take it back now. Our founding fathers Jefferson, Madison, Washington, Adams and other's, warned us that Tyranny and Oppression when it comes shall come under the guise of a foreign enemy. Jefferson himself took an oath upon the altar of the almighty and plead eternal hostility against tyranny of any form over the mind of man. Yet all around us every day we are witnessing martial law being forced upon on the streets of America and we are seeing our most fundamental rights of privacy and protections being stripped from us and we are losing every sense of what it is to be a free American in a free democratic society. People gave their hearts, their minds, their souls to assure America would always be Free for them, their families and all future generations.
I am not interested in a vision that calls for a new world community in this country at the expense of being an American. I am not interested in a world view that takes away my right to be Free from fear and want and my right of Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Religion, just as it's stated on back of every World War II medal in this Country. I want my children, your children, my grandchildren and yours, to be proud of me and you, just like we are proud of those who went before us, who fought for our Country, fought for our freedoms and made us great. We as a people are being manipulated, controlled, deceived and denied our rights to be Free and to be an American. We cannot wait any longer to take our Country back. Their must be an immediate groundswell and a call for change from the American people and it must begin now. We will not get this time back, and we must act, we have to act, the time is now. We have every right to insist that of paramount importance is that we remain a free America, we keep our identity, and that the world continue to look upon us as a free democratic society. We can no longer afford the excuse of being caught up in our busy lives when the future of our Country, our grandchildren, and future generations are at risk. No generation before us ever did that. And never let it be said that we were the first.
We must take America back and we must take her back now. This movement must come from the people. It must begin now. Each and every one of us must take part in letting our voices and our resolve be heard in our cities, our towns, our states and throughout the Country. We cannot wait any longer. We must act now.
