I promised my wife that I would shut the hell up before I end up in 'Gitmo, but I can't. The things that Secretary Gates is spewing in Europe right now seems more like projectile vomiting than comments. His blasphemous statements about weapons found in Iraq with Iranian markings insult the intelligence of every American citizen. This is what he told reporters in Seville":

"I don't think there was surprise that the Iranians were actually involved, I think there was surprise we actually picked up some," he said.(1.)

He and other U.S. officials have said for some time that Iranians, and possibly the government of Iran, have been providing weapons technology and perhaps some explosives to Iraqi fighters.

Gates, who attended his first
NATO defense ministers meeting in Seville this week before flying to Munich for a security conference, said Iran is "very much involved in providing either the technology or the weapons themselves for these explosively formed projectiles."

He acknowledged the Iranian weapons are not a large percentage of the roadside bombs used in Iraq, but he said, "They're extremely lethal." (1.)

What is extremely lethal? Is he talking about shaped charges as in artillery shell? Is he talking about the tens of thousands of artillery shells left in munition bunkers the size of football fields in General Tommy Frank's rush to Baghdad? Not those artillery shells! They had Iraqi markings, didn't they? Could they have actually used up all the shells that WE LEFT THEM WITH ONLY A PADLOCK ON THE DOORS TO THE BUNKERS! Now we are to blame the Iranians. It's all right that our idiotic brass left enough crap lying around to supply the insurgents for years, now Herr Bush and his Gestapo are framing the Iranians for OUR mistake! This is something that can be proved. Go dig up any newspaper during the run up to Baghdad. It doesn't take a freaking rocket scientist to know what our lying government is up too.

Why would they mention this if they weren't starting a case against Tehran? What possible reason could there be in mentioning that they found shaped shells with Iranian markings when it was us that had supplied enough shells for a decade? You figure this out. If you come up with any other reason but that they are making a case for War, I'll stop writing about these lying propaganda spinners forever.

Don't worry too much about our government actually wanting to go to war. Secretary of Defense Gates made it abundantly clear when he told the reporters this:

"Gates said the recent raids combined with the movement of an additional U.S. aircraft carrier into the Persian Gulf have created a stir, but he said the Bush administration had no intention of attacking Iran.

Asked about the Defense Department inspector general's report criticizing the Pentagon's use of prewar intelligence, Gates said he hadn't yet read it.

But, he added, "based on my whole career, I believe that all intelligence activities need to be carried on through established institutions, and where there is appropriate oversight. And if the intelligence isn't adequate, then changes need to be made in these institutions to improve the intelligence." (1.)

I'm so glad that you have let the world know that we have no intention of attacking Iran. I'm so glad that you told us that Sir. We know that we can trust our government to tell us the truth.

I know that Secretary Gates is an honorable man. Later on he'll tell us that he forgot to add the word "yet".
