As in the famous “Star Wars” movies, it is time to form a Rebel Alliance in Congress to force Impeachment hearings. Our heroes of Impeachment Dennis Kucinich, Robert Wexler, and others cannot do it alone any more than Han Solo and Luke Skywalker could defeat the Empire’s huge battle fleet. Forming a new special Caucus group with the intention of pushing Democrat Congressional leaders into action has some healthy advantages for those who want to put an end to the reign of Darth Cheney and the Emperor. For one thing, it is safer for all involved. As a coalesced group they are less likely to be attacked and targeted for individual destruction, such as happening to Kucinich now. It is harder to attack a whole Rebel Fleet as opposed to the lone Millennium Falcon. And as a large and vocal group they have greater mutual protection from the “Dark Side” of the Force’s uncanny abilities. In fact, it would likely protect against perfectly good private airplanes falling out of the sky (a reference to our fallen but not forgotten Progressive hero, Sen. Paul Wellstone).
Knowing this, the “Shield Generator” of a Congressional Caucus for Impeachment could provide some additional backbone to some Congresspersons who are on the fence now… Making their decision a little easier to make (…and this would seem to be a large group). Our Forefather’s words of: “We must all hang together, or hang separately” are over-used perhaps, but nonetheless undeniable. In this case where those who dare call for Impeachment are sanctioned and targeted, it is especially true. A flotilla of “Correllian Cruisers” is a more formidable enemy than a little fighter and a small freighter; even if it is the fastest in the Quadrant.
The Alliance may be the means of breaking through the “Death Star” of controlled mainstream media. If 30 Congresspersons called a press conference to announce the new Caucus For Impeachment, and no one from MSM covered it, that would be serious and major news in itself; very dangerous and difficult to hide. It raises the stakes; and forces Big Media to finally admit there is an Impeachment movement, thus starting the wider public debate.
Having a Rebel Alliance out there could serve another purpose: Providing the Democratic Party with some sparse cover. It removes the weak excuse given by Congressional leaders of: “We cannot call for Impeachment, or they will use it against the Democrats in the next election”. Of course we already know this is not only craven and morally indefensible, but simply wrong anyway: If the truth comes out, their main worry should be the voters asking why did it take so long in the first place. If this lame excuse is removed via Washington’s favorite fig leaf of plausible deniability, the leaders might then find another excuse. But then it would just sound like…. Another excuse. Their hypocrisy does know bounds: It would be up to us, and the Rebel Alliance, to force them to those limits.
And if we continue to work the grass roots route hard without remorse, redoubling efforts in support of the new Alliance, providing solace and comfort for our brave Rebel Pilots… Then soon these leaders being held ransom by the Empire will be forced to see that joining the Rebel Alliance, instead of collaborating against it, may be the best hope of saving the Galaxy.
