All this while big oil posts profits that make the dot com boom of the 90's look like chump change. Is a $25 billion profit by Exxon/ Mobil a bit over the top? Nah!
The typical American worker is struggling to make ends meet, can barely afford to buy gasoline to travel to a job that, at any moment, may be outsourced to a foreign land, and is drowning in debt, peddled on college campuses, by legal loan sharks, aka credit card companies. Come on, 18% interest is fair isn't it?
If that were not reason enough to scream, along comes a natural disaster that wreaks havoc on southern cities, making it painfully obvious that either we have no leadership, those we have in charge of our well being are incapable of doing their jobs, or, worse yet, that they just don't care about the poorest of the poor.
Not too worry. Big pharma will come to the rescue with yet another wonder drug to dull our minds, just ever so slightly, and desensitize us to the realities we are living. Can you spell Zoloft?
