TELL US What YOU Think.
NH Rep. Betty Hall's resolution HR24 to tell the US House to begin Impeachment Hearings was 'laid on the table', amid shouting by Representatives and considerable debate. Now that it has been tabled
Is there a danger that the failure of HR24 will be framed
as the end of the battle for accountability, for impeachment?
Let's talk about this.
We'd love to hear from the leaders of UFPJ, AfterDowningStreet.org, Democrats.com, WorldCan'tWait.net, Veterans Groups, Unions, Congressmen, the leaders of local, regional impeachment groups through out the Country, AND Of Course YOU.
Lets talk.
How important is HR24?
If it had passed it would have been very important, but Congress, given their past behavior would probably ignore it.
So, perhaps HR24 is just another day in the battle for accountability for Cheney and Bush.
Time is not on our side. We have a firm deadline by which to achieve impeachment, November 4, 2008, our National Election.
After that date, Congress' desire to hold Cheney and Bush accountable will die a quiet death as the election winners salivate over their win and the perks and opportunities to further their personal power and fortunes.
The Democrats are about to give Bush another $102 Billion for the Iraq occupation, America still tortures people, American still holds people in jail without charges, but Congress won't discuss or debate Impeachment.
And the anti-war and peace and justice groups can't seen to work together on impeachment.
Why is it that a national peace and justice organization that can field over 1,000 protests nationally on the Anniversary of the Iraq War cannot/will not do the same solely for impeachment and force the congress to hold hearings?
Is the failure of HR24 the end of the impeachment movement?
