Civil Rights
It seems to me that this is a clear civil rights violation. I would suggest that Tom and his group sue Thelma Drake, the staff, the landlord, and the police. A lawsuit might get more attention than a bunch of letters, especially since Thelma apparently doesn't read mail from constituents. by Bob Trowbridge (1 articles, 0 quicklinks, 1 diaries, 70 comments [1 recommended, 0 rejected]) on Sunday, Feb 25, 2007 at 9:50:00 PM

Arrest
I would suggest that Ms. Drake issue an apology to the petitioners and remember that she is supposed to represent them to the government not represent the government to them. If she doesn't then she is obviously selling her vote to the highest bidder. That makes her a political wh.re in my book. by Archie (0 articles, 0 quicklinks, 0 diaries, 1750 comments [111 recommended, 0 rejected]) on Tuesday, Mar 20, 2007 at 3:10:35 PM

are you kidding?
You talk about the constitution and rights, but it seems you do not understand anything beyond the freedom of speech, such as property rights. As for Thelma Drake she is indeed an elected official "someone elected by the people as per our constitution" and therefore should be available to her constituents when they call, then again you should call and explain your grievances instead of protesting in a mob like kind of way. But you won't try to talk to her in a normal way as most of her concerned constituents would, because you want to be noticed and pitied that is why you resort to loud protests. By the way, I have nothing against protests I have been part of a few myself but then again expect an evening in jail if you do not behave, and rightfully so (and that goes to both libs and conservatives alike). On the other hand I support Thelma Drake for standing strong on her position and commitment to fighting terror. As you probably already know the majority of democrats voted for the war, but then again that is not their fault they thought that this war would make them look strong on defense right? Oh wait maybe they just believed Bush and took his word for granted or the CIA? Sure I can think of a few excuses…. by bush08 (0 articles, 0 quicklinks, 0 diaries, 1 comments) on Friday, Mar 23, 2007 at 11:41:34 PM
