Danger of terrorism has increased manifold despite the fact the rulers worldwide have wasted the resources in the name of the war on terrorism.

With each passing day, the terrorists have been increasing their activities. According to reports, the terrorists have planned more attacks in the future. Here the question arises as to why the terrorists have been strengthening their position.

"Rulers instead of taking action against the terrorists have been providing full support to them," several tribesmen were quoted as saying. They said that elimination of terrorism is possible if there is sincerity. "Pakistan is the fronline state in war on terrorism, but there are still some officials who have been providing support to terrorists and Taliban," they added.

All those who have been violating the law of the land are terrorists. It is ironic to note that the officials of Pakistan government have been violating the law of tribal areas -- so their names can be put in the list of terrorists.

The NWFP governor, the controlling authority of tribal areas has been advising the tribal people to adopt violence so the rulers can get the excuse for launching an operation against them. "Terrorism can be controlled through restoration of peace, but the rulers of Pakistan do not want peace as they have been earning dollars and rupees in war," said the tribal elders. They said that the rulers forgot that women and children are being killed and maimed in the fighting.

NWFP Governor Ali Jan Orakzai expressed concern over the law and order situation in the Bajaur Agency despite peace agreements between the government and all key tribes of the area.

“Tribal elders should play their role in identifying and apprehending the culprits,” Orakzai told a jirga consisting of elders, councilors and parliamentarians from Bajaur Agency at Governor’s House. “Tribesmen are traditionally religious and individuals disrupting peace in the area have no place in the tribal system,” he said. Orakzai urged the elders to form local peace and surveillance committees to ensure peace in their respective areas, adding that the government was committed to its responsibility to maintain peace and could deal with any situation with the cooperation of the tribesmen.

The governor also expressed concern over reports of poppy cultivation in some areas of the agency and urged for joint struggle to eradicate poppy from the area.

According to a report carried out by some newspapers, the terrorists have planned more suicide attacks. Intelligence agencies have warned the Interior Ministry’s Crisis Management Cell (CMC) that a Waziristan-based jihadi organisation has planned suicide attacks at police offices to avenge the killing of its members by security forces.

In a letter , the CMC has urged the provincial home secretaries, the provincial police chiefs and the inspectors general of police of the Northern Areas and Azad Kashmir, and the Islamabad chief commissioner to take necessary measures to prevent any untoward incident. The letter warned that militants may carry out suicide attacks on police training centres and police lines in the coming months.

The CMC letter stated that some terrorists had already entered Punjab from Waziristan to launch suicide attacks.

The people of tribal areas have demanded of the rulers to adopt sincerity in war against terrorism. "Presently the terrorism has been posing threat to very existence of this world, therefore, this is high time that rulers must be sincere in their efforts against terrorism," they said.
