How warped is Clinton's reality?

By       (Page 1 of 3 pages)   No comments

Last week Keith Olberman played a clip of Hillary in California.

If it had been a few days earlier, say April Fool's Day, I would have bet Hillary was looking for a sure laugh.

She wasn't.

At her Burbank press conference Clinton said, "Senator Obama has been very timid and very unenthusiastic with doing anything with the economy," "I feel like Paulette Revere -- the recession is coming, the recession is coming!"

I couldn't believe my ears.

Never mind the grammer, does Hillary honestly feel like Paulette Revere? Why? Is the possibility of recession, breaking news?

We've had many months, if not more than a year to see the housing collapse and mortgage meltdown growing. The international press has been filled with coverage.

Doesn't anyone on the Senate staff or campaign, read Bloomberg, The Financial Times, the World Bank Updates, anything to create a real world view?

The dollar has been plummeting for years. The crushing debt, heaped on over extended workers, struggling to stay afloat, can't make enough to feed Washington forever.

We the People are broke. You, our "public servants" have been writing checks with our name on them and our promise to pay!!

We owe, we owe, so off to work we go! We are working to pay debts created by Congress. Never mind what there is to show for the spending spree.

It is an unsustainable system to consume more than you produce. Congress consumes all we produce and more, much more.

Shouting, "The recession is coming, the recession is coming", in April 2008 is not impressive.

Didn't it occur to you that Congress burning up billions to destroy things, money we don't have, was going to lead us here?

We know that people with mega-million dollar incomes don't always get to grapple with the true cost of debt. Most working people can tell you that debt costs you big time.

It grows and compounds in a way we could only dream of for income or investments of ours. The amount shoots to the stars in a flash Senator.
