PDA is pleased to announce the launch of the PDA Elected Progressives Network project, an effort by PDA to expand our political base by building a communication network of already elected progressive officials. This project is being headed up by Michael Engel (see http://pdamerica.org/about/staff.php). A summary of the project can be found on the PDA web site home page and at http://pdamerica.org/articles/news/epn-launched.php. PDA is asking all of our supporters, chapter members, partners and allies to take a moment to provide PDA with the names, titles or positions, official addresses, and e-mail addresses of elected progressive officials who you think ought to be part of this network. Feel free to include any information about the officials you think relevant, including reasons why you consider the official "progressive." PDA does not have a blanket political litmus test for "progressive"; you are the best judge of what it means to be progressive in your communities. Nonpartisan officials, Greens, Independents, and others may also be included. PDA would appreciate all responses to this EPN project be mailed to Michael Engel, the PDA EPN Coordinator (epn@pdamerica.org) as soon as possible, ideally no later than October 25th. A form to facilitate response to this information request is attached.
PDA is enthusiastic about the potential impact of this project. Please take the time to make it succeed. All questions or suggestions regarding EPN should be directed to Michael Engel, epn@pdamerica.org.
In solidarity and hope,
Bruce Taub, PDA Alliance Coordinator
Tim Carpenter, PDA Executive Director
Michael Engel, PDA Elected Progressives Network Project Coordinator
