Dubaious Decisions

The Bush administration says that the UAE is trustworthy. They say that the deal has been evaluated. Don't believe either.

First, Dubai's leader died, under very strange circumstances, just last month. At 62 years of age, he died, while on a trip to Australia. His was cause of death was not identified. They said it was due to natural causes. Natural causes? A guy who could buy any hospital in the world dies at age 62 and they call it natural causes? Oh, and they spirited off the body in a private jet-- no autopsy. It doesn't just smell. It reeks to me. His brother inherited the throne. What do we know about this new leader? One thing we don't know is what kind of a leader he is. He's only been there a month. How can Bush say he knows and trusts him? And with the strange death.

Next, we have the truth coming out that a number of agencies that should have signed off on this deal never got a look at it, and the coast guard expressed reservations. What we have here is one small tip of the rat and vermin (right wing appointee) infested iceberg showing itself. The whole US government is diseased with unethical, incompetent, partisan, Michael Brown types.

Any organization operating a port would have access to huge amounts of information about port security, patrols, weak points, and all it would take would be for one terrorist ally for the port to be put at risk. This is about business before safety. That's the way the right wing operates. Perhaps this juicy deal was just so irresistable it seduced the Bush crime team into showing their true face-- uninterested in security unless it has a political or financial payoff.

Now, not even 50% of Texans trust Bush. People are waking up. I hope it's not too late.
