General after general is calling for dumping Rummy. Bush is pulling puppet strings on generals who are'nt close to retirement age so they'll bite back at the criticizing generals.
Seven GOP congressmen are expected to go to jail because of their Abramoff connection.
Bush's ratings keep going even lower. Canada''s leading magazine, McCleans calls him the worst president in 100 years.
The US debt is worse than ever.
So, what do our ever vigilant mainstream media do? They give us updates on the Aruba murder. They spend hours covering the story about the Duke rich boys accused of raping a black woman who the local whites are trying to characterize as of low moral character. They hone in on the news about a depressed guy who expressed canibalism ideas on his myspace.com page.
I shift from CNN covering the cannibalism to msnbc covering the Aruba murder. Desperate, I check out what Fox is spewing to it's moron viewer base. They're doing a propaganda feature, probably ordered directly from Karl Rove's office, on how shameful it is for retired generals to call for Rummy's resignation.
In other words, the news networks all stink. They are worthless. We desperately need a news media that tell the truth. But wait, there's BBC. No, not this time of day. I spent the weekend visiting in-laws in Canada. I sure wish we could get CBC down here. Anything would be better than the crap the US news networks spew. I check the rest of the TV cable band-- soaps, re-runs, reality garbage. I switch to the science fiction channel. At least, there, I know what I'm getting.
What can we do about it? Drop the networks and the anchors emails and phone calls telling them they are doing a lousy job, that we don't want to hear anymore about the murder in Aruba, about the murders they spend far too much time on.
