There's an Explosion at a Jacksonville, Florida, chemical plant, with evacuation of half a mile radius. That's the kind of ripe, easy-pickings target that has been described as particularly vulnerable to terrorists-- and that evacuation is the kind of result that terrorists would love.
But if terrorism was involved, do you think there is any chance that we'd be told by the government? I don't.
If terrorists engage in a terrorist act, but don't report it, or, if they get caught in the midst of it, after the damage is done, it seems likely that the Bush secrecy administration would bury this info, keep it hidden and secret for as long as possible.
They'd argue that by even disclosing that it WAS a terrorist attack, it would negatively impact investigationis.
So, when any event that COULD be caused by terrorists occurs, you have to wonder, was it an act of terrorism. But you can't know for sure. One thing is sure-- you can't trust what the government officials tell us. We know from years of lies about torture, rendition, WMDs and more that they lie routinely and frequently.
That's our America.
