It is September 11, 2007 and Bush and his cohorts intend to bleed the day dry of all the political advantage they can get for their illegal war. The seventh year of lies, manipulation, distortion and perpetual war begins tomorrow, launched by the Petraeus report.
Prologue:
We knew he was going to scam us again, didn’t we boys and girls?
We saw it coming did we not, boys and girls?
The black clad thief-in-chief in the middle of the night.
On the tarmac at An Bar.
There at An Bar using the military he’s almost totally destroyed for a backdrop.
For a backdrop for his shameless, utterly shameless, politically engineered, manipulated sham of a photo-op. A photo-op so obviously, sophomorically staged to prop up his scam. This man without the guts to be on a tarmac in any war where he might have to fight.
Then came the report. In the buildup, the laughably obvious buildup to the “Petraeus report” on the progress in the invasion of Iraq, much was made of the unassailable respectability of General Petraeus so that any criticism of him or his report would be condemned as, gasp, disrespectful and horribly unpatriotic. Delivered to the senate the day before the anniversary of the attack on this country by one Lebanesse, one Egyptian, two United Arab Emirates nationals, fourteen Saudi Arabians and…. zero Iraqis. The report of the obedient, salute-the-chief and spin the tale, lay out the hyperbole with a straight military face, General Petraeus.
We knew what Petraeus was going to report did we not? Well, actually to claim a 75% drop in those deaths????? Didn’t think they would have the nerve to claim that. Nobody believes those ridiculous charts based of their new formulas, nobody who is actually mentally functional, that is.
But, no matter. Just so behind the unassailable respectability of Bush’s front man, General Petreaus, enough republicans sidle back close enough to the fold for George W. Bush to have just enough support for just long enough to keep sacrificing human beings, to keep that blood flowing, to keep killing people just long enough for him leave office without having to admit just how stupid he is and just how disastrous these, his monumental blunders on the world stage are.
And Fox News, god bless ‘em they’re there with Britt Hume’s farce of an interview of Petraeus and Crocker to help out all they can. And following suit, again, once again the dogs of the fourth estate lapping up the Koolade, rapturously panting with praise over the genius of the general and his miracle, his honorable, respectable oh so fabulous miracle of saving Iraq, of bringing victory from defeat against al Qaida, al Qaida, al Qai..da…al Qai da ….al…Qai da……al….Q……..iinnn Irraaqqq…..911….al QaidaIraaqq….911. All because of the marvelous, wonderful surge.
Obviously, probably all of Fox News and much of the rest of what we laughably call the media become mentally disfunctional when exposed to the gaseous mixture of the hot toxic fumes of white house propaganda . Remember Colin Powell’s presentation to the UN?
All this hype, the phony statistics based on changed, duplicitous and bogus formulas for the benefit of a barely literate cowboy’s ego. This is why people have to die. This is why the largest military force in the modern world had to be been decimated and no one in neoconland cares and they plan to continue throwing soldiers and marines back into the raging pit until they are used up and then using sailors as soldiers until they are used up and then the Coast Guard and the Merchant Marine, whatever it takes. What is next, boy scouts? Grandmas knitting club? For George W. Bush and George W. Bush’s incredibly oblivious, unprecedentedly selfish, petty and privileged ego.
And so to Harry and Nancy I say:
Know this Uncle Harry and Aunt Nancy, George W. Bush wants this war, this horrible, human being gobbling, civilization destroying, bloody and senseless war to continue for HIM. For him and his “legacy” and his puffed up ego. Primarily. Of course there is the oil and the arms industry, but right now and primarily, he wants those George W. Bush military bases in the Middle East for his legacy, that he thinks will bring him fame before and after death. Without the sense to see. Without the sense to see or understand that all this sacrifice of other peoples’ lives that he is oh, so willing to give, will bring only more hatred of and attacks against the United States and is the sure beginning of the demise of the influence of a once great country.
