Senator Arlen Specter (R-Pa) was on Late Edition Sunday, September 24 and was asked if agreed with the intelligence report that the war in Iraq had actually made things worse as far as creating new terrorist groups, and turning moderate Muslims against the United States. He said that he agreed with the report. He was then asked if he still backed the invasion of Iraq. He then replied that he couldn't have known that we would anger Muslims and made things worse by doing what we did. He didn't have the written report back then, when he voted for authorization of the use of force. He couldn't have possibly known it would make things worse.

Well Senator Specter, you must be a really stupid fellow! I hate to be disrespectful and rude, but if The UN or The EU, or another nation or body, thought that the United States was a threat to world peace, and came here and invaded us, and then took our citizens and imprisoned them and stripped them, and made them stand on a chair with electric wires attached to their genitals and spread the pictures throughout the world, would you be a little angry?

Would it bother you if they said that we had missiles packed with anthrax and they were pointed towards all the European capitols, and they took over this country, and our President had to flee, and they found him months later, living in a tree in the Rockies, after they failed to find ONE missile full of anthrax, would you be a little upset?

If another country had tanks rolling down all our city streets, and had some idiot on TV, on the deck of a warship, telling the world "mission accomplished" and you had no idea why they attacked us because we weren't guilty of anything against them, would that give you a little headache?

You have been in Washington for too long, Sir. Apparently you are starting to believe anything that you hear, because you can't tell fact from fiction anymore. Don't sit there on a Sunday morning and tell me, on my day off, that you never thought invading another country would turn the Muslim people against us. That is a lie, and that makes you a liar. Why did you believe Cheney, when he said that people would throw flowers at our feet, and welcome us with open arms? Why did the American people swallow that crap? I thought that you were a smart man, apparently, somewhere along the way, you lost your wits with the rest of your party.
