Maybe, now that we know about this disability, maybe we should have different standards for those that are "Ethically challenged." We could give the people in Congress a little more latitude when it comes to obeying "The Letter" of the law. Maybe we could let the just obey the "Basic Intent" of the law, and let the little things that get in the way of the truth, just slide. I mean in the Handicapped Olympics, they don't have the same rules for the participants as they have for the International Olympic Games. In that line of reasoning; then we should, instead of trying to rationalize why he does the things that he does, just call the this President "ethically challenged".
That would explain many things. It would explain why he chose to make up that elaborate list of evidence he used to insist Iraq was manufacturing WMD's. Maybe he didn't know the difference between a fact and a supposition. There are many Republicans that seem to suffer from that. Perhaps they should do a study to see why that is so. Maybe the Republicans just seem to attract the ethically challenged because they are mostly white, Angelo-Saxon Protestants. Maybe the disability is genetic and only targets WASP's. It is too early to tell, it's just a speculation, seeing that we just found out about this condition.
The only thing I really got from watching all of the news shows, all four hours, was that the Foley Scandal is going to hurt Republicans, and that nobody really knows what the US will do if North Korea tests a nuclear weapon. I could have stayed in bed, as I already knew that. I was shocked and dismayed however, when the Republicans seemed to care more about who leaked the Foley story to the press and why they did it, one month before the election. Sen Joe Biden was right on the money when he said that the issue wasn't who blew the whistle, but that this Congressman was preying on young boys without anyone doing anything about it. Also, on "Face The Nation" Bob Schieffer directly challenged Rep. Patrick McHenry when he too suggested that the Democrats leaked the story to the press to influence the elections. Three times Shieffer asked ; "Do you have any proof of this?" All three times he asked, McHenry tried to change the subject. Finally, he said that the charge was just a "logical conclusion" even when Schieffer told him that the information came from Tom Reynolds (R-NY), and that he was the one that originally brought up the charge, it seemed to make no difference to McHenry. It was all the Democrats fault, and he was convinced of it. This is the Republican mind set. It is more important to know who told on Foley, than the actual charge against Foley.
