This morning I was going to lambast Bob Schieffer for not asking Tony Snow about the hydrocarbon laws that the US is pushing for so that the global oil companies could get control of 75% of Iraq’s oil reserves, he failed to ask that question. That is a question that should have been asked and it positively shows that we can’t trust the mainstream media to ask the tough questions that matter in this crazy mixed up world that we live in today. If he can’t ask the questions that matter, then Mr. Schieffer should retire and let people that aren’t afraid of stepping on a few toes ask the questions.
The big news however was “Jumping” Joe Lieberman’s soon to be famous sound bite that said “I think we can’t take military options off the table when it comes to Iran. They are training fighters over there (In Iran) and killing up to 200 American soldiers. I think it good that we talk to them but we should be saying to them stop killing American soldiers”.
To that Bob Schieffer asked “So what is it that you propose?”
“Well Bob, I think we should use our military and strike Iran. I believe that we should use our power and take out that base. We must stop Iran from training Hezbollah and others from attacking Israel”
“Do you think we can do this from the air?” Asked Bob Schieffer.
“Well I didn’t know, we will have to leave that decision to the commanders on the ground.” Said Lieberman, his eyes blinking like a madman, the first “tell” they teach you in law enforcement that indicates someone is lying.
This scenario is a bit paraphrased because I didn’t tape it. If I KNEW that Leiberman was going to come out and, make an ass out of himself I certainly would have brought out my tape recorder. I just ran from my living room to get this down on paper before I forgot what it was he said.
So where is this man’s head? What planet did he come from? If he has evidence, which he says that he’s seen about these “secret” bases in Iran, than show it to us. Don’t be a lead man for ambiguous charges that stir people up for war. Mr. Lieberman should realize that the American people are beyond that now. We have been there and it just won’t play again. Since I’m talking about people retiring, maybe Joe should think of moving to Israel and getting himself a position in the Knesset, he sure doesn’t belong in Congress.
President Bush was greeted warmly in Albania. This is a fascist state that regards Kosova (The way they say it) as an Albanian province. Bush was there pushing for Kosovo’s independence, little knowing that Albania would jump on that and bring Kosova into a “Greater Albania”. Bush should start listening to his advisors, or anyone for that fact. He too just doesn’t “get it”. This morning the Television set just made me sick.
