Why Can't The Democrats Mention the Things that Matter?

I was a diehard Democrat at one time. As a matter of fact, it took a long time for the Democrat in me to die. I was 53 years old when I started to see that the Democrats really weren’t talking my language anymore. I did campaign for Kerry and Edwards. I even sent them money. It wasn’t because Kerry has such a great message, it was more because he stopped me from going to jail during the Vietnam Vets Against the War Rally in Washington and because I despise George W. Bush.

Look at the front runners in the Democratic line up. Hillary Clinton and Barak Obama. Both of them are about as genuine as Fox News. Hillary is a corporate controlled, Democratic reincarnation of George W. Bush. She’s got a table full of nukes and is willing to use them. Barak is an internationalist on one day, and on the next day he is telling the world that he’ll violate international law and bomb a sovereign nation against everything that the Anti-War movement is about! These are the front runners!

These people have no more expertise in being President than George Bush. They will say whatever it is that they believe that their audience wants to hear. The others in the race aren’t exactly the best of the best either. I’ve seen Joe Biden flip flop many times too. The only two worth listening to are Dennis Kucinich and Mike Gravel. Mike has to tone his anger down a bit though. He’s correct to say that he is consistently ignored, because the moderators don’t let him get a complete sentence out of his mouth. His anger shows through though and that’s not good. I would be glad to work for him if he’d offer me a job, but I’m too broke to do it for free, and he’s too broke to pay me.

Chris Dodd is something of a middle-roader. He doesn’t exactly ring my chimes and says nothing that is really mind boggling or new. The way he holds up his little girls is cute, but my God, he’s my age (a little older really) what was he thinking? That’s his business I guess. I like Bill Richardson he’s smart. He cares about foreign issues and he’s a great negotiator. If he doesn‘t become President, he would make a fine Secretary of State. John Edwards thinks he’s a progressive. He isn’t, but if push came to shove, I might throw him a vote if he gets the nomination, but I won’t be skipping to the polls.

Where are genuine people? Kucinich and Gravel are genuine and they are treated like jokes by this jaded, pompous Mainstream Media while jackasses like Bill O’Reilly and  creeps such as Glenn Beck poke fun at those that are light years ahead of them as far as intellect goes. The media tell us who the front-runner is. Don’t believe it. They said Howard Dean had it nailed and they dropped that one. These fools on network television will suck up to anyone that’s “perceived” as being a winner. Maybe they believe it will rub off on them. Wait until the first primary. If Hillary Clinton runs away with it, I’ll go to work for Ron Paul and love it. She’s another one that claims she’s a “progressive”, maybe when she and Bill were toking up in the 60’s, but those days are over Mrs. Clinton. You are Republican Light and you haven’t addressed any human rights violations that Bush has committed in any of your debates. Where is your sense of justice and decency? Don’t you care about what our country is becoming?

Why won’t she talk to Castro and Chavez? What the hell is wrong with Chavez? Does she believe that he’s a menace too? Of course he is buying all of these weapons from Russia. That’s because the United States refused to sell him parts for his F-16’s! If I were Hugo Chavez and I saw what Bush did to Iraq and is preparing to do to Iran, I’d be arming myself too! He would be an idiot if he didn’t! He still spends less than 1/10th of what we spend on arms. Hillary, you are a moron. You talk like you believe everything Bush says, and I believe you do. You are a warmonger and you are complicit, along with most of your Democratic friends, in this illegal, immoral invasion of Iraq. I want a comment on the fact that it wasn’t illegal because Congress signed off on it, well that doesn’t cut the mustard with me, Congress does illegal things in the eyes of the world all the time! Because the US says it’s right, doesn’t mean it is.

This country is hitting bottom as far as the rights of human beings. We believe that we can travel all over the world, dropping bobs willy-nilly on “suspected” targets of a phantom menace that is or isn’t trying to hurt us. It all depends who you talk too. We were at war with Germany and Japan and Italy along with half of Eastern Europe, and then we were in a ‘Cold War” with the Soviet Union and we never, ever took away the basic rights of American citizens before. What are all of these “detention camps” being built for. Why haven’t the Democrats addressed this? What about the right to Court-martial Journalists in Iraq? Why doesn’t anyone say anything about this? What about the President taking over the National Guards of the States for law enforcement in violation of Posse Comitatus? Why don’t they talk about this? What about Rendition flights and torture, why is this not discussed? We have never had to resort to these kinds of barbaric methods before, why now?

Everyone on that stage except Mike Grave and Kucinich talked as if this “War on Terror” was something that is sacred. To tell you the truth, I believe it’s nothing but a ruse to give this nation the right to play “Roman Empire” with the rest of the world. If we spent half the amount of money safeguarding our nuclear plants and our harbors, we’d be a hell of a lot better off! Why do we need a national ID card? I won’t get one, I refuse. I’ve got a retired military ID and a drivers license and a social security card, sorry Mr. Government man, but that’s it.

These are the real problems; our infrastructure, voter fraud, anti-trust issues of just a few companies owning the media. Then we have Big oil anti-trust violations, Immigration reform, health care for the middle class and the poor, Banking fraud with credit card scams, government inaction, mounting consumer debt, and global warming. We have too many people in jail doing hard time for this other war “The War on Drugs”, that isn’t working either. We have a rising murder rate, we work more hours than any other nation on Earth, and the middle class is vanishing. We have a problem with lobbyists, corporate contributions to candidates, an antiquated air control system, need more?

You people don’t impress me. Maybe we need an Article V Constitutional Convention and a new Constitution. This country is a mess. The worst part of this is that this election is about bullshit as usual.
