Nobody said that Saving this Nation Would be Easy

You know something? If you believe that your democracy is dead, it is. If you believe that we can rid the United States of the pestilence that has infected Congress and the executive branch, we can. Conspiracies, Corporate Government, The Patriot Act, The Military Commissions Act of 2006, The Warner Defense Bill, and the re-vamped Insurrection Act can all be scraped.

If you think you’re beaten you are. If you think you are beaten you will just give up and accept whatever they dish out to you. Whether it be free-trade agreements that only help the corporate bosses, or the devaluation of the dollar while we spend half of our discretionary budget on a useless, endless war in Iraq. Remember, Bush and the boys didn’t go to Iraq to get the oil. They went in there to turn off the spigot. Iraq was dumping oil on the world market and the price couldn’t rise fast enough for the corporate, stateless Oil Multinationals. Now that the flow of oil is slowed down from Iraq, they can hike the price to $100.00 a barrel.

You can be docile and just go along to get along, or you can be vocal and do whatever is necessary to reign in these corporate thieves that want control of everything. You can go stump for John Edwards and take corporate control out of government. Students of history will know that we have been in bad straights before and America has always found itself back to the center. The biggest mistake that we made was not dismantling the Military-Industrial Complex after the Vietnam War or after the Soviet Union fell apart.

We spend more money on killing people than any other enterprise our government is involved in. When are people going to accept the fact that you can’t spend 800 Billion Dollars in Iraq and not have to pay for it? When are we going to recognize that there are 120 soldiers a week taking their own lives after returning from Iraq? When are we going to understand that Depleted Uranium is giving our soldiers and the Iraqi people radiation sickness? When is The United States going to act like a moral member of the community of nations and not a war-mongering tyrant that believes diplomacy should come out of the barrel of a gun? When are we going to see that people like the Clintons and the Bush’s have used this nation for corporate gain at the expense of our Middle Class? Are we going to hand the reigns of government to Hillary Clinton so she can be the guest of honor at the next Bilderburg Conference? Don’t fall for it.

What everyone needs to do is wake the hell up and get involved. We are pretty much running out of time to save this nation. What would Patrick Henry have done? He said “Give me Liberty or give me Death!” How many of us could hold to that pledge? Thomas Paine asked us to use “Commonsense”. Benjamin Franklin said “Those that would sacrifice Liberty for Security will find neither”. Where are the modern American Patriots? Who will stand up to these nefarious powers that have only self-interest at heart and care not for the people of this nation? Where are the real modern patriots? They are everywhere, writing, organizing, and fighting this corporate system. Look for them and you will find them. Look for defeat and you will find that too. Nobody said that bringing democracy back to this country would be easy.

That’s the way I see it.
