In 2007 I retired as professor of English and American literature and language (yes, it's a mouthful, isn't it) and now live in the foothills of the Cascade mountains. Married with children and grandchildren. On the best of terms with birds and other wildlife in a natural paradise. I collect books, chickens, coke stuff, coolers, tools, bags, nesting boxes, and too many things to confess to. A single find might start a new collection. No collection is complete enough to accomplish anything but annoy my wife. Now that I'm retired I can ignore most holidays and let weekends slip by unnoticed, but I try to observe Bloomsday each June.
