Claudia Corrigan D'Arcy joined the adoption arena in 1987 when, at the age of 19, she faced the proverbial rock and a hard place and "chose" to have her first born son, Max, adopted at birth. After almost 14 years of attempting to live in a self imposed void, she wandered online over 7 years ago, and began to understand the truth behind the adoption mythology that she embraced for survival.

Since "waking up", Claudia has devoted much of her time working on adoption education and reform. She serves on the Board of Directors with Origins-USA, a nonprofit organization dedicated to natural family preservation and the support of family members separated by adoption loss. As well as her work with OUSA, she manages several adoption truth related message boards on MSN, is a founding member and admistrator of Soul of Adoption, and is a lobbyist with Unsealed Initiative, a grassroots group to support Open records legislation in New York and MARTA, the open records group for Massachusetts. She has been a guest on The Adoption Show, attended the St. Bart's and Shedding light on the Adoption Experience conferences in NY in '06, the American Adoption Congress Conference in '07 and presented at the KAAN conference as a mother of loss in July '07. She most recently volunteered with the Ethica/Evan B Donaldson Ethics and Accountability conference in October '07 and was invited to take part in the "Meet the Bloggers' reception and coverage. She has also been interviewed for The Albany Record on search, reunions and open records.

Claudia has authored the National Infant Adoption Reform Act, a future piece of US legislation that will reform current American adoption practices. She has appeared on the Motel Williams show as an expert in adoption reform and ethical issues. She has also created short videos regarding adoption that appear on YouTube. She has an adoption related blog, Musings of the Lame, and is always working on "a book of sorts, or maybe two" .
