Vicki became a Registered Nurse in the late 1970's, and worked in hospitals providing care at the patient's bedside, primarily in ICU and Critical-Care units. Now, after nearly thirty years of working under the conditions that bedside nurses endure every working day, she is officially considered disabled, and is unable to work at the job -- and in the profession -- she has loved for so long.

Believing that health care is a basic human right, she works to promote the passage of laws providing single-payer health insurance for everyone in the USA, as well as establishing mandated safe minimum RN staffing levels that will help protect patients and nurses from the dangers of inadequate staffing.

Vicki lives in Ohio with her fifteen-year-old and 8-month-old feline furkids.
