Dr. Drew Pinsky's Authoritarian Approach to Charlie Sheen If he wasn't using medical terms to threaten someone's liberty and to dehumanize them by refusing to respond to what they are saying, we would call this "libel." But what is going on here is worse than slander because this kind of insensitive, uncaring, profit-oriented, social-control oriented behavior is destroying people's lives.

Who Is Bill Maher?? Educating is not as simple as giving out information--particularly when it comes to issues relating to social change and improvement... As critical as the information we have may be, it may not be possible for us to bring that person (let alone the masses) to assimilate that information.

But What Have We Learned Since the Rodney King Riots? What exactly have we learned about our culture and society since the Rodney King riots that we should expect anything but another riot in the face of even more inequity, more oppression, and more government control? Of course we should protest injustices, but is rioting a solution?

The "Pursuit" of Happiness? Einstein once said, "No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it." It seems to me that if "We the People" could raise our level of consciousness we would see what is responsible for unhappiness. We would not frantically "pursue happiness" much the way an addict "pursues" their drug...

A Response to Rob's Poll I saw the results of the recent poll on OpEd News, "Are You Hopeful that President Obama Will Make Things Better?" In reading this poll I am reminded of the connection between the psychodynamics of an alcoholic and the psychodynamics of our society.
