Janet Weil is a military family member since January 2003 and a CODEPINK staffer, and represents the organization to the United for Peace and Justice Afghanistan working group. She taught English to immigrants for a number of years before leaving teaching to focus on ending the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Janet is also a published poet. She has a loved one in the Marine Corps who expects to be deployed early in 2010 to Afghanistan. Janet has recently been inspired by hearing and meeting Afghan parliamentarian, teacher and leader Malalai Joya on her book tour for "A Woman Among Warlords."
