Author of "Diary From the Dome, Reflections on Fear and Privilege During Katrina" a memoir of being a tourist trapped in the Superdome during Katrina and the levee failures, Harris, a native of Sacramento, California was a rabid conservative always believing our Country could never ever do anything wrong or immoral. I deferred to authority as obviously correct since they were in charge after all. I thought hippies were evil and religiously would put out 3 flags on Flag Day as an example of my unwavering "devotion".
Thanks to the guidance of an older brother and my own maturity I started questioning authority and became involved in environmental and civil rights issues. I studied psychology and political science at the University of California, Davis and in 1984 moved to San Diego where I was a probation officer and later a Library Supervisor at the Univ. of California, San Diego.
After writing my book, I moved to the idyllic, artsy town of Eureka Springs, Arkansas in 2008.
