I became an activist in 2008 after being inspired by Dennis Kucinich in the early debates. I was particularly overwhelmed by his outline for a single payer healthcare system. Years earlier I was diagnosed with cancer and made a pledge that if I survived I'd find a way to pay back to society. I decided that advocating for single payer was my way to pay back and therefore co-founded Maine Healthcare Reform. I also went to Sen. Baucus' hearings on Obamacare and was one of the 13 people arrested at the hearings.
After the passage of Obamacare I started The Progressive Agenda and have been advocating for progressive causes ever since.

Forget about the defective, ineffective, and expensive "Public Option" designed by the insurance industry and abetted by their allies, the Democratic Congress and White House.
