I'm just a mom. Unfortunately, now I am a Gardasil mom. Where I once worried that my daughter would get a cavity, I now worry how long she can live with the complications from Gardasil. As bad as things are, we are the lucky ones. She can walk, she can talk and she can at least attend school, even though the teachers have to cooperate with the provisions of her health condition. She was bright, always an honor roll student, a cheer leader, soccer player, soft ball, funny and driven with goals to be a doctor. Now, her medical school is being turned away from every doctor saying that they can't find anything wrong. She received her one and only vaccine on June 9,2009 and was sick within 20 minutes, however, her doctor that administered the vaccine was adamant that the vaccine did not make her sick, and was literally furious that I cancelled the other two scheduled shots. Are you serious?? So, as you can guess, I had to report her injuries to VAERS myself. I am now a member of truthaboutgardasil.org and am listed as a guardian angel to be a voice on the other end of the phone for someone in my area that needs to vent. I vent to the moms in the yahoo group of the same name and would probably have gone crazy by now without them! I have never been an advocate! I was a simple country girl from Texas that lived my life for my kids. But you can bet that I am an activist now! You don't hurt people's children and get away with it. Well, I suppose they are getting away with it, but I like to think that I have had a big part in those who have declined the vaccine for their daughters. They say that everything is bigger in Texas, well I can tell you that my determination to remove Gardasil and hold Merck accountable for the thousands of injured girls is as big as it gets!
