I'm from Wisconsin, and my parents were from Germany and California. I was privileged to retire at 58. I do a lot of informal social work and social activism. I'm particularly concerned about "under-privileged" youth, as well as about the effects of racism and economic oppression on our society and the world.
I'm married. My hobby is singing. I also like puttering, and am working with a small group to build a Pietenpol airplane.
I haven't accomplished much in the way we normally think of accomplishments. I have overcome some psychological difficulties related to my upbringing, and crossed social boundaries I grew up with to work with African-American children (I'm white) and learn to be friends with people of different races. That feels like a big accomplishment to me. I continue to struggle to do right by the world, and hope we can eventually learn to coexist with each other and the rest of our planet, so that the human race can survive and thrive together.
