When activists find things marked "Made in USA" lying on the ground they deliver them directly to the U.S. ambassador to Israel. The other night they returned a bunch of empty tear gas canisters, all marked "made in USA," fired by Israeli soldiers in the West Bank.

It's precisely because Israel and its right-wing supporters constantly insist on the unique symbolic value of the "Jewish state," and claim unique privileges for their state, that they've run into the problem that they call delegitimization in the first place. There's a move brewing in Congress, this one aimed at discrediting the flotilla movement by keeping all its participants out of the US because they are "terrorists." Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell are circulating a bipartisan letter calling on Obama to put the Foundation for Human Rights and Freedoms and Humanitarian Relief (IHH) on the US "terrorist" list.

Though the Bush administration can't figure out how to win in Iraq, it is scoring a big victory on the public relations battlefield with its favorite myth: If you cut funding for the war you are not "supporting our troops." If you support the troops you have to keep on paying billions for a failed war.
