I graduated cum laude from Lehigh University in 1961 and the Chicago Medical School in 1965, having been elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honorary Medical Society. I completed medical internship and one year of medical residency at The Montefiore Hospital in New York City, and then served for 3 years as a medical officer in the U.S. Army Medical Corps. Following my military service, I began a psychiatry residency program at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, which I completed in 1973. Shortly afterward I started a psychiatry practice in New York City, which I continued until I moved to Virginia in 1990. While in New York, I became assistant professor of clinical psychiatry at The Mount Sinai Hospital, serving as medical director of the Narcotics Rehabilitation Program, and then chief of the Psychiatry Outpatient Division at Lenox Hill Hospital. Following my move to Virginia, I continued private practices, currently practicing in Fredericksburg, with 37 years experience in practicing psychiatry. I am interested in holistic health and non-traditional approaches to medical practice. I have been chosen to be listed in Who's Who in the East, 1991-1992 edition, Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, 1997-1998 edition, and Who's Who, 2001 Edition. I am a vegetarian and near-vegan, and am active in the Animal Protection Movement. I oppose animal abuse of all kinds, including experimenting on them, on ethical, scientific, economic, and spiritual reasons. I am married, have no human children, but have 2 dogs and 6 cats. My wife runs a nonprofit animal protection charity. We are both environmentalists committed to sustaining a healthy planet and protecting all the life forms we have. I am an ardent traveler.
