Why Americans turned on the Democrats in the mid-term elections The American voters did not turn on Barak Obama in this month's mid-term elections. They turned on the Democratic Party, which chose to shy away from the President and pretend to be Republicans, instead of standing true to their liberal ideology.

Why the Palestinians can do without the Negotiations Much has been said about the future of peace talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority and the possible consequences of their termination. Yet little attention has been paid to the genuine possibility that the Palestinians will not wait for negotiations to resume at a later time but will unilaterally declare independence. Palestinian Prime Minister, Salam Fayyad, is openly and insistently creating the opportunity.
