Gualdo Hidalgo was born in August, 1952, in Bayamo, Cuba. During the last years of the war against dictator Fulgencio Batista, he lived in the area where Fidel Castro's guerilla was operating. When he was a kid, he met personally Fidel Castro, Raul Castro and guerrilla commander Juan Almeida. He also spent with his father two months in El Hombrito, where legendary guerrilla commander Che Guevara had his headquarter during the Cuban Revolution. When the author was 11 years old he delivered a speech on Cuban TV, in an event aired from Cruces de los Baňos, in which Commander Juan Almeida was the main speaker. On 1976, he was appointed Director of the Philosophy Department at the Vocational Military School Camilo Cienfuegos, Holguin, Cuba.. Later, he started working as Director of the Department of Philosophy for the Institute of Labor Studies, directed by the Provincial Power Assembly. He has taught Philosophy, Economics. and Spanish. He immigrated to United States in 1990. He is also graduated as teacher of English from Shenandoah University, Winchester, Virginia, United States. He has also worked as freelance translator for Colgate Palmolive, Chase Manhattan Bank, New York Department of Transportation and a variety of corporation. The author has been profiled on books published by Georgetown University, Harvard University and Freedom House. On the last Program report on human rights, Columbia University, quoted the author referring to the quality of Columbia University Human Rights Programs. The author is a licensed teacher of Spanish and English for New Jersey Department of Education. He has taught language and culture for colleges and universities in the United States. The author's hobby is Martial Arts;. He has been training Karate since 1955. He is a Black Belt, 7th Degree in Karate.He lives currently in Washington, NJ 07882, United States
