I am a mother, a sister, a daughter, a girlfriend, a bestfriend, an associate and....I am a writer. I fell in love with writing when I was about 13. My mom had given me a journal and said, "Write your thoughts." From that moment on I tried to get my words on paper. It was such a struggle yet, I couldn't avoid the need to try. It was in 7th grade Literature class that I was introduced to the works of the great Edgar Alen Poe. I immidiately felt I had permission to write exactly how I felt! That was what intimidated my ability to write true feelings and thoughts was the lack of aproval to write depressing or dark things in my journal. If that was what plagued my mind shouldn't I be allowed to get it out somehow. This was also right around the time I was in and out of Psychiatric treatment. For years I was diagnosed this and that and meds were tried and failed. WIth all of their failed attempts at helping me I continued to write through it all. I subconsiously documented my life through journaling. About six years ago I found all my journals and decided I owed it to myself as well as society to put all of my compiled entries of life into a memoir. Everything I struggled with all the confusion I suffered with. Then just last year I became 100% dedicated to raising awareness in Mental Health. I have written new theories, currently wrapping up my memoir, articles on personal views and opinions, as well as a collection of poetry I plan on eventually publishing as well. I am very passionate about what I do and confidently plan on making a change in psychology. Just because I am considered mentally ill does not mean I can't embrace it research it and possible come up with new therapy options to include the prevention of mental illnesses. I have been given the gift to write and I have researched and had personal experience in the subject. I feel I have a responsiblity to share my story and give a platform for all others who have or know someone who has a mental disorder. It is a real disease that can be treated and even possible prevented through generations. I want the best possible life for my children- If we don't start providing the same benefits for those with mental illnesses as physical illnesses, imagine what that means for the future. Insuring an open mind, healthy mind and happy future for our children!
I am non judgemental, unconventional, very direct and I have a strong opinon on a lot of things. I am laid back and very easy to get along with because I am always open to hear the other side. Anything else you want to know....please do not hesitate to ask!
