The US as Israel's Enabler in the Middle East -- Who's Serving Who? The recent Wikileaks releases of State Department cables and particularly al-Jazeera's release of a raft of Palestinian documents dealing with negotiations over the last decade also demonstrate with striking clarity how hard the United States works, and has always worked, to help Israel in the Palestinian-Israeli negotiating process.

A Wikileak on the US and Al- Jazeera The United States has had it in for al-Jazeera at least since 2000, when the Qatar-based news network began reporting on Israel's harsh treatment of Palestinians during the intifada and, a year later, covered the start of U.S. war-making in the Middle East, revealing to the Arab world a graphic picture of U.S. and Israeli brutality.

We Told You So! The Palestine Papers and What They Reveal About the US/Israeli Agenda It may be too much to hope for serious change in this U.S. policy anytime soon, but the Palestine Papers revelations may at least open discussion on the wisdom of continuing to pursue a policy that virtually everyone throughout the world recognize as a "legacy of ignominy."

Wikileaks Cables on Israel's Gaza Onslaught Even were Hamas rule illegitimate, which it was not -- Hamas having been democratically elected three years earlier -- it is not a common presumption that political illegitimacy justifies a massive military assault.
