Don't be Naive Chicago: The Atmosphere of any Political Campaign Breeds Liars Chicago has the storied reputation for being chronically, politically corrupt. Richard M. Daley, Mayor for the past 21 years, seeming to have had some type of re-birth, has moved the city closer to redemption, confronting even his own demons. Chicago Mayoral Candidate, Gery Chico, "Willing to Entertain" a Racist, Segregationist Policy Gery Chico is one of the 6 candidates on the ballot seeking to be elected to serve as the 55th Mayor of Chicago. Chico has the support of the Chicago Firefighters Union and the Fraternal Order of Police. Both groups have long rallied for abolishing the city's residency requirement for city employees. Doing so would effectively reduce the city's tax base and revenue and have the potential to financially devastate the city
