Hi.

I'm Amy Long. I'm the president of the Universal Life Church Seminary. We are connected to the original ULC in Modesto, CA. Our ordinations are free for the asking.

I've written a bunch of books: 'The Ultimate Wedding & Ceremony Workbook for the 'Planning-Impaired'', 'Weddings, Funerals and Rites of Passage', 'More Weddings, Funerals and Rites of Passage', 'Spirit Quest - A Metaphysical Journey' and the 'Kenpo Continuuum'.

I hold a third degree black belt in American Kenpo karate and run my own school, Sacramento Kenpo Karate.

My BF and I live together. I have 2 kids, who I have pretty much all the time, and my BF has full custody of his son.

I love sci-fi and am currently watching re-runs of 'Sliders'. I spend my time working on my website, practicing Kenpo, and dealing with the ever-present issues that having children presents.

I spend a lot of time working on creating a sense of community in my life. I do it with the Seminary stuff and with Kenpo. In our class, everyone gets a hug when come in and a hug when they leave. In between, we pound on each other -- in a respectful way, of course. :)

I know there are a lot of people in the world who feel disconnected. They feel ignored, hurt, left out, etc. Part of my mission in life, is to give people like that the hello they need. I sent out kind words mailings every week to thousands of people and have been doing it for about a year and a half. It's free to sign up for and I've gotten a great response. It makes me feel good to send out an email to someone and tell them they're doing a good job. Sappy? Perhaps. But I've been surprised how many people say it was just what they needed to hear or they wonder how I could know what they're going through.

Overall, I enjoy my life. I love doing kenpo and do it about 4x a week. I have a great class. My BF does it too and it's great that we have that to share. I love my kids and I love my job.

But I hate housework. And I'm not terribly fond of cooking. I can do it, but I don't enjoy it.

I also don't like Bruce Lee movies. I'm a martial artist and that's such a strange thing, but really, his movies do nothing for me. :)
