I am the Leader Emeritus of the Ethical Humanist Society of Long Island, where I served as Leader for 33 years.
I am presently Professor of University Studies at Hofstra University, where I teach courses in applied ethics and East Africa in a globalizing world.
My wife and I were Peace Corps volunteers in Kenya in the mid-1970s and I have published two novels and a collection of poems about Kenya. My wife's book of Kisii folktales has been in publication in East Africa since 1966.
My latest book is The Lost Art of Happiness, published by Prometheus Press.
