I am a retired clinical psychologist and now consider myself to be a full-time progressive activist. I was a candidate for the U.S. Senate (Maine) in 2008 as an Independent. Prior to that I was a member of the Senior National Staff in the Kucinich for President Campaign (2008). I am a past Vice President of the Maine Veterans for Peace, Chapter 001. I am also active in the Albuquerque Chapter of VFP and the Central New Mexico Chapter of Progressive Democrats of America. In addition I also appear in film and TV as a background actor.

On Aggression as a First Choice: Is there another way? The prevalent ethos in the United States is that differences in opinion, behavior, faith, gender orientation are to be resolved by aggressive actions -- not by discussion, negotiation, understanding or compassion. We have a long history of addressing differences by means of aggression. Their guilt or innocence will not be argued here. Fallout from Failure to Impeach The failure of the Bush/Cheney impeachment effort has resulted in a continuation and enhancement of the Imperial Presidency under Obama. A strategy for changing the direction of the administration, short of impeachment, is promoted. Failing this, the potential even if Obama were to get reelected,is for the Nation to move further away from a democratic republic form of government and further towards a fascist state.
