The right to vote is under assault. In eight states, Republicans have enacted voter ID laws that require voters to show government-issued photo ID in order to vote. While Republicans claim voter ID is needed to protect against voter fraud, there is no evidence of in-person voter impersonation. Voter ID is a solution in search of problem. Minorities and women are disproportionately impacted by voter suppression by voter ID.
