Roger Goodman, M.Div., is a Queer author, filmmaker, keynote speaker, Queer workshop facilitator, and former concert harpsichordist, teacher, and recording artist. His book "Thoughts of a Tribal Elder: One Queerman's Journey From the Ashes Risen" is a collection of 20 essays focused on Queer Culture in all its aspects--spiritual, historical, mythological, theological, psychological and artistic. It is meant to be a companion piece for his documentary film "From the Ashes Risen" about the AIDS holocaust of the 1980's and how the Chicago LGBT community responded to the crisis. The book is due for publication in February, 2012. Roger is currently seeking funding for the film. He says there is a powerful story to be told, and he is meant to tell it. He was present at the seminal Stonewall Rebellion, fighting in the streets of the West Village in New York City in June, 1969 and has been politically and spiritually active in the Queer community ever since. He has been, since 1989, a Spiritual Director in private practice for the Queer community and was diagnosed with full-blown AIDS in December, 1995. Roger Goodman lives in Chicago.
