Parvin is the founding Director of the Mission for Establishment of Human Rights in Iran (MEHR Iran). MEHR was evolved from a committee that was formed in 1997 under the name of "Iranian Committee for Establishment of International Criminal Court (ICEICC).” MEHR is a network of individuals committed to expose and stop human rights violations in Iran. Parvin has a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College of Science and Technology, London, England. He was a Professor at Arya Mehr University in Iran before being forced to leave the country in Nov. 1982 due to his human rights activities. Since coming to the US, he has been involved in teaching and consulting. He was a full time faculty member at California Institute of Technology (Caltech) for four years before moving to Aerospace Industry. Since then, he has been teaching as Adjunct Professor at California State University and does aerospace consulting. Parvin has been very active in pursuing MEHR goals and has used all possible avenues to promote the cause of human rights in Iran. These include: • Speaking regularly at Seminars, conferences, and panel discussions organized by various organizations in the US, Canada, and Europe. These events include Speeches given at the University of Stockholm, University of Toronto, Vancouver University, Washington University, Seattle, George Washington University, and University of Toronto, Canada. • Publishing papers, and articles on human rights violation in Iran. • Hosting a regular weekly Radio and TV shows on human rights, on Radio Voice of Iran (KRIC) and PARS TV since 1997. • Being interviewed by KPFK Radio, Voice of America, Los Angeles Times, and PBS on various occasions regarding Iran. • Organizing and participating in International seminars. to address the violation of human rights and discuss the international avenues to seek justice. • Testifying as a human rights expert witness in the trial of Islamic Regime of Iran at the U.S. Federal District Court at D.C. in February 2, 2007 • Conducting training on strategic planning for nonviolent struggle against repressive regimes
