Israeli officials have their hands on the Hamas rocket dial The Senators got it very wrong. Facts issued by an Israeli think tank with close ties to the Israeli military show that Israeli forces were not acting in self-defense. Quite the contrary.Hamas did not fire any rockets at Israel until Israeli forces had completed three weeks of intensive military operations on the West Bank and in Gaza. Still Hamas did not fire rockets until Israeli forces killed 6 Hamas members on July 7.

Constitution Provides Tools to Defend State Law Restricting Money in Elections from Citizens United Challenge Vermont Attorney General Bill Sorrell won in US District Court. He nevertheless announced that he would no longer enforce certain provisions of Vermont Election finance law. He became the chief beneficiary of that decision when an out-of-state PAC provided nearly $184,000 in campaign finance for his reelection campaign. The authors show that four legal tools are available to enforce and defend Vermont election finance law.

Last Hours for Montana Montana can quickly win the case filed at the US Supreme Court by corporate entities seeing to overturn its 100 year old election integrity laws by asserting sovereign immunity. Failing to do so risks summary reversal of the Montana Supreme Court decision upholding this state law. The US Supreme Court is set to decide on Thursday and issue its decision next Monday.

Montana Citizens United Case Hanging in the Balance Attorneys who filed amicus briefs to the US Supreme Court in the Montana reprise of Citizens United are urgently calling on Montana Attorney General Steve Bullock to immediately submit a motion asserting sovereign immunity to forestall summary reversal. So far Bullock has refused to do so. The case can be won or lost based on this simple move.
