In 2004, Rady Ananda joined the growing community of citizen journalists. Initially focused on elections, she investigated the 2004 Ohio election, organizing, training and leading several forays into counties to photograph the 2004 ballots. She officially served at three recounts, including the 2004 recount. She also organized and led the team that audited Franklin County Ohio's 2006 election, proving the number of voter signatures did not match official results. Her work appears in three books.

Her blogs also address religious, gender, sexual and racial equality, as well as environmental issues; and are sprinkled with book and film reviews on various topics. She spent most of her working life as a researcher or investigator for private lawyers, and five years as an editor.

She graduated from The Ohio State University's School of Agriculture in December 2003 with a B.S. in Natural Resources.

Here's one I leapt on because it landed in my mailbox. I printed 100 copies of this "Letter to the Editor" of a local volunteer newsletter, and distributed it in my neighborhood.

Election integrity demands Vu's removal from the field of public elections.

Seizing the Polls Firing the entire Cuyahoga Board of Elections is a stunning display of official accountability. Cuyahoga's violations were stunning. They lost not only hundreds of memory cards, but also 29 voting machines. If Brunner can replace the Cuyahoga Board with competent democracy advocates, surely we salute her, Citizen oversight is especially vital now, in this transition stage.

Silver City In "Silver City" director John Sayles uses mining, arguably one of the most environmentally toxic processes of industrialized society, as a backdrop to expose the multiple and often hidden layers of profit-driven power. Instead of a movie about election fraud, it's about the fraud of elections.

HCPB Implementation Strategy 2007 While machine advocates try to justify electronic voting, even going so far as to add yet another electronic gadget (assuring us this is the magic bullet that will fix all our electronic voting system "glitches"), here's a less expensive, common sense strategy for 2007.

Meet the New Boss: Jennifer Brunner, Secretary of State Ohio's new Secretary of State promises to "examine the machines" and to expand early voting. While many are happy with the Democratic sweep, the election system hasn't changed. We still have election conditions which provide no basis for confidence in reported results. Links to many reports for bringing the new crop of politicians up to speed.
