MLK on service, From ImagesAttr
(2 comments) SHARE More Sharing        Saturday, August 31, 2013
The warring army that would make MLK smile & build his "Dream" MLK inspired the 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, believing that jobs and peaceful service would bring out and build the best in national character. If we could rebuild our flagging American character and economy by cost-effectively expanding peacefully working platoons we already have deployed, why do we hesitate in expanding them to more quickly build Dr. King's Dream?

Professor Tzu on JFK, GW, BD, PCVs, and How Ugly Americans Are Remolding AMC Should more serve? Is a peaceful volunteer army needed to combat climate change & growing hatreds? Does America & the world need more development teams that do good? "Labor is the superior of capital,& deserves much the higher consideration." ~ Abe Lincoln. What would Abe say today with who runs the country? Can a million-strong American World Service Corps help win America back for the doers and away from the plutocrats?

Will Colbert Nation save the galaxy? Christ marshaled apostles to venture the world to do good, sans guns. Why don't we follow in his sandles? Who can build that peaceful clan of do-gooders? Only someone who can preach to the world. Is Stephen ready to lead the Colbert Nation to a better world? Ask him what he's doing about this letter that crossed his pixels a couple days ago. More info from our monks at the worldservicecorps . us web site.

What will Hagel's experiences lead to? What do you know about Chuck Hagel? He has more real big guns to play with than anyone in the history of the world. And he has played with guns. And the Republicans don't like him, although he is one of their own. And he will have a great influence of the lives of today's sons, daughters, grandkids, your economy, and the state of the world. So, read him in his own words.

Zero Dark 30 in the toilet While buying a ticket to view how dark the world was becoming, the movie house manager told a half dozen anxious teenagers trying to buy a ticket to 0 Dark 30, "You need an adult with you," causing them to text someone. Were they like most of us at that invincible age, yearning to see how they too could be buffed-up, high tech heroes? Before it was too dark, would they learn there were other, smarter ways to be heroes?

What's MPC & MPS got to do with me? Understanding MPC & MPS is essential to understanding "What's the Matter With Kansas"" and America. And more Americans need to know how their MPC & MPS is being manipulated, so they can fix what's wrong.

Threshing "tef" in Ethiopia Where are you from? What color was your sperm or ovum? Why did you get the lottery ticket that allows you to read this on the internet? What makes a Bible preaching, chest thumping American so much better than the rest of the world? Didn't many of our ancestors come here as part of the world's discarded riff-raff? "Can't we all just get along?" Does it take a village? Aren't we zygotes from the same village?

Commuting for American priests & Ethiopian Security As phony & stupid wars bleed economic and human needs worldwide, Americans increasingly hear & vent about race, religion, fear, & one-upsmanship that ballyhoos America as #1, as well as morally superior. Travel that puts dirt under fingernails might help Americans see a more meaningful world and how a nation once blessed with being #1 should react in it, which implementing People's Lobby's AWSC could do.

The AWSC Congressional Proposal is a robust 1)Jobs 2)Learning & serving 3)Terrorist erasing 4) Hearts & mind winning 5) Hard to corrupt 6) Cost effective 7)Clean & simple 8)Needed program that, with America's leadership, could drive other nations to build similar peaceful, productive service corps that would in time erase the stupid mentality that keeps waging wars and replace it with one that learns and builds.

Happy Days? Sending a battalion of plumbers... Appreciate what you have and make it and you grow. An exceptional nation grows from expanding the special deeds making ability of its people, which then grows a more involved, smarter, and bigger middle class at home and abroad. It's just what America, and most nations need, amidst today's blabbering-media, post-bubble, trickle-down societies.

Needed: Robust 21st Century Jobs Corps that smartens - AWSC We need a jobs program that keeps us out of wars, builds worldwide community, begins making up for the lost opportunities of spending $5.5 trillion in Iraq and Afghanistan, and extends the Fourth Turning. American World Service Corps Congressional Proposal (AWSC) does that. Sign this NEW FRESH White House petition (at WhiteHouse.gov) to have the White House seriously consider implementing People's Lobby's AWSC.

"This is BS..." Trumped-up war, deaths, PTSD, foreclosures... Our active military, National Guard, their parents" pay steep prices for marching us into trumped-up wars. Then too many of their loved ones suffer more with foreclosures, while the uber-rich merely party-on. What's wrong here in America? Is this the kind of country you want to step forward for? Do we need to add another kind of army? One that learns skills, wins hearts and minds, and understands the real world.

Raping Taxpayers for 50+ years - and it's becoming easier This is a taxing piece about the economic warfare between and among the Morgans, Buffets, and the rest of us. "If the government cannot collect its taxes, a man is a fool to pay them." J. Pierpont Morgan. "There's class warfare, all right, but it's my class, the rich class, that's making war, and we're winning." Warren Buffett. And it has a lot to do with hypnotizing uninvovled Americans into buying Voodoo Economics.

Growing Habitat, AmeriCorps, etc. for today and tomorrows' New Orleans Habitat does wonderful work. AmeriCorps provides great workers learning from and doing needed service. Making such organizations bigger and better makes America smarter and stronger. This piece, based on doing some 2010 New Orleans Habitat work, is intended to help improve both Habitat and AmeriCorps, tying its lessons into the need to implement People's Lobby's American World Service Corps (AWSC) Congressional Proposals.
