How To Block a Commenter

Block a Commenter You Don't Wish to See

When you come across a commenter who makes comments that you no longer want to view, just click the Block Commenter button on the comment and you'll be presented with a screen where you can choose to block the commenter on this one article. Or on all comments everywhere.

You'll also be able to select a reason why you no longer wish to view comments by a commenter. And if you choose Other, you can write an explanation in your own words of your reasons. (This is just so can get an overview of why a particular person may be blocked by a number of viewers.)

When you block commenters, you'll no longer see their comments, but you will see a line that reads: "You have blocked John Doe from comments." The main reason we include that line is because it also holds an UnBlock Commenter button that you can press, if desired.

Note: you will also see a Show Blocked Commenters button on your Profile page when you login. You can use that to list whom you have blocked and also unblock, if desired.

Also, if you see a comment that is spam, or is offensive or abusive, please click on "Flag This" button (above the Block Comenter button). By so doing, you can notify us. After we investigate, we may either delete the comment, edit it, and/or warn (or ban) -- or congratulate the flagger.
