I can't shake the feeling that the Nuclear Industry is controlling much of what we hear about the crisis in Japan. General Electric is one of the "biggies" in the Nuclear Power Industry and they also own a lot of Network Television resources. In the same way, the so called "Professors" and "Experts" being interviewed by CNN et.al., are sometimes right on and at other times so far off the mark that they are either incompetent or outright lying.

The reports we are allowed to hear say the radiation levels are very low and of no danger. I even heard one "Professor" on CNN say that someone having a CAT/PET receives 100 times the amount the Japanese people are being exposed to. Ouch! I just had a routine 6 month CAT/PET this morning as a follow up for Lymphoma I had a year ago. As I write this, the radiation (Gamma) just over my kidneys measures 260 mr/hr. That's a lot but let me prove the radiation in Japan is orders of magnitude greater.

The Los Angeles Times reports three workers are sick from radiation exposure. To become sick from radiation normally requires at least 250 rem exposure and more likely 350 or above. My radiation is .260 rem, compared to a minimum of 250 rem to get radiation sickness.

It is also being reported that a US Navy Carrier went through the "plume" at sea and the sailors received one months permissible dose in 10 minutes. In addition, a helicopter taking pictures had to be decontaminated. These statements are not to be taken lightly.

I realize I am using old terminology when I speak of rems and today's terminology is Sieverts (Sv) and Grey's (Gy). But I was trained in Nuclear Physics at US Government expense back in the early 1960's and I still use the terminology I am most comfortable with. For conversion, 1 Sievert equals 100 rem. Sieverts are usually referred to in micro-sieverts or 1 millionth of a Sievert.

Let's push for actual numbers on the radiation levels! Tell us what is being measured rather than weasel wording saying it is "acceptable", "within limits", etc. IF one or more reactors goes into a full meltdown (and they already admit "partial"meltdown) , there may be repercussions as far away as Hawaii or even the coast of America. So what preparations are the Government Officials taking? I heard another weasel word explanation saying they were "making necessary plans."
