Demand the Release of the CIA's 9-11 Report!
Bush's Appointee Porter Goss is Suppressing The Truth to Protect the President. Tell the mainstream media they should be covering this!

President Bush makes it a point to tell us how much safer we are since 911 because of his steady leadership. One of the tag lines Bush likes to use is that he will always defend this country's security. He has classified more documents in the interest of "national security" than any other president in history. Unfortunately when you look behind the rhetoric there seems to be far more concern about his own safety, than for ours.
This week it was revealed that the CIA report on 9-11 was completed four months ago. This report was required by Congress and is expected to be a far more honest analysis than the compromised 9-11 commission report. It is expected to name names and finally start to explain how this horrific attack was not foresaw, nor responded to effectively. These are questions that need answering. The American people deserve to know the truth. The families of the victims have waited three years to try and begin to heal the wounds. What is the president's response?
Not until after the election.
Yes, you heard that right. President Bush does not think you need to know the truth when you go into the voting booth. He does not want you to know what were the root causes for 9-11, who might share some culpability, why we did not respond effectively and where we need to begin, to move on.
On 9-11 we are told that a 6 foot four Arab man hiding in a cave in Afghanistan managed to arm 19 hijackers with box cutters and circumvented our billion dollar intelligence operation, airport security, and our air defenses. Recently new facts have come to light including reports that Dick Cheney was running war games drills, coincidentally about hijacking airliners, coincidentally in the Northeast, coincidentally on 9-11 and that these operations may explain why NORAD did not respond. We do not know the facts, but we should. Bush obviously disagrees.
President Bush wants you to vote for him primarily because of the war on terror yet he does not want you to know the results of this report until after you cast your vote. That is fundamentally dishonest. Where there is smoke, there is usually fire. If this report was not damaging somehow to Bush, there would be no reason to not release it now. The fact that Bush is having his new political puppet, Porter Goss suppress the report can only mean one thing. Bush probably bears a lot of the blame in the report. Isn't that something you would want to know before you decide to vote for a man who claims to be tough on terror and wants to protect you? Isn't this your right to know?
Intelligence officials have said that this report "found very senior level officials responsible". The report is being stalled by Goss, waiting out the days until the election is over. At every turn, Bush has tried his best to not find the truth about 9-11. He opposed the forming of the 9-11 commission. He relented only after significant public outcry. Then he under-funded it and placed unrealistic time frames for it. Then he limited the scope of the commission to not look at blame, but how to avoid another attack. Then he did not want people in his administration to testify. Then he refused to testify. Then he acquiesced, as long as Dick Cheney could hold his hand, that he only be questioned by the top two commission members, and that if he agreed no other administration officials could be compelled to testify. Now, Congress asks for a report from the CIA, which is generated and completed in June, yet Bush is refusing to allow you to see it until after you vote. I don't know about you, but that does not sound like protection for me.
Imagine it is a week after Election Day and Bush has been re-elected with your vote. The report is released and it reveals that Bush was negligent somehow for 9-11. How would you feel? Is that something that you would have wanted to know before you cast your vote? If it is, you have only one choice. Since Bush is suppressing this report, you must conclude that it names him as being responsible and adjust your consideration for your vote based on that fact. This president opposed all sane measures to try and discover how 9-11 happened. He is now stonewalling Congress and refusing to let you know the truth when you vote. Yet out of the other side of his mouth he wants you to vote for him because of his strong leadership and prosecution of the war on terror. In order to cast a fair vote based on these factors, you need to be armed not only with how he has blown up Iraq , but what he was doing before we even had a war on terror. The fact that he won't tell you is quite revealing. He is clearly more concerned about his own political safety than your physical safety.
The safety concerns do not end there however. It has been reported this week that Condi Rice and Tom Ridge have been touring the country to stump for Bush and his re-election in key battleground states. Condi Rice is the National Security Advisor and her job is to "Advise and assist the President on national security and foreign policies, and coordinates these policies among various government agencies." Considering Bush is fond of reminding us that we live in dangerous times and we will drift toward tragedy if we are not careful, what does it tell you when the person directly responsible for our National Security is out on the campaign trail? In these perilous times, are there no crucial issues facing us on national security that Condi Rice needs to be working on? How does this keep us safer?
Tom Ridge is the Secretary of Homeland Security providing safety for all concerns regarding our homeland. Tom Ridge once said, "We don't do politics at the Department of Homeland Security". Yeah, right. What does it say that the top man for our internal security is spending his days on the campaign trail selling the Bush brand? Are there no issues of domestic protection that he should be working on? How does this keep us safer?
George Bush likes to pretend that he is all about protecting you and he is concerned about your safety. The record says otherwise. He has dispatched YOUR National Security Advisor and YOUR Secretary of Homeland Security to traipse around the country and give political speeches to try and get him re-elected. The two TOP people responsible for our security in this country and the world are not at their desks protecting us; they are on the road, protecting Bush. In addition to this, Bush is suppressing a CIA report, ORDERED by Congress, who are YOUR representatives, that may finally shed some light on the most heinous crime committed in this country's history.
He says he wants to defend you, but the record shows he wants to protect himself. He wants you to vote without being fully aware of the truth. He is ignoring your safety to protect himself. The politics of self-protection have been exposed and we now must take this into consideration before casting a vote for empty rhetoric.
