I disagree, in my comment on his diary:
I'd say that small differences can make all the difference in the world, including the difference between being a human or a chimp. And looking the other way, at similarities could make the difference that leads to election of McCain, which could end the world, or, make it so there are no chimps or humans on it.According to this analysis, chimpanzees and humans occupy sister branches on a family tree, with 99.4% genetic similarity. Next on the tree are gorillas, then orang-utans, followed by Old World monkeys.
BTW, Kevin lives in a reliably blue state. Location is an essential diagnostic context on this issue.
Now is the time for sane people who believe in doing all they can to protect the constitution, democracy and justice to rally around the one candidate who can stop the continuation of four more years of Bush-type leadership. Anything less is worse than misguided. Like I have said, if you are in a swing state, your thrown away vote, used as a message is a viable thing to do. If you are in Ohio, Florida, Colorado or any other less than solid blue state, smell the coffee. Your vote and your angry, anti-Obama voice could punish the world with another four years of apocalyptic, shock doctrine, disaster capitalism leadership.
If you are in a solid blue state or a hopeless red state, between now and November is not the time to attack Obama. It IS the time to advocate for the issues that move you to support McKinney, Nader or Barr. Get the issues raised to as high prominence as you can. But don't hurt the one candidate who can end the eight years of disaster presidency we've had inflicted upon us.
