At least 9 activists in Burma were sentenced today for their involement in 2007 Saffron Revolution, illegal assembly and seditious activities.
A well-known commodity price protest leader Ko Htin Kyaw was sentenced to 12 1/2 years and a Buddhist monk Ven. Ashin Candavara from Thiri Zey Yar Monastery was sentenced to 8 1/2 years. Four ABFSU members Ye Min Oo, Ye Myint Hein, Sithu Maung, Zin Lin and three other NLD members Myo Thant, Kyi Phu, Thein Shwe were sentenced to 6 1/2 years imprisoment each.
According to informed sources, a well-known Spokesmonk for the Saffron Revolution U Gamviya, popular Burmese comedian Zarganar and popular Burmese hip hop singer Zay Yar Thaw will be sentenced in this week.
