Gemini New Moon Solar Eclipse: June 1, 2011

Get ready for accelerated time.   Yes, it's going to get faster!   Coming up this next month are three eclipses, as well as planetary shifts that will accelerate our evolution.   Since most of these celestial events occur during the Sun's journey in the sign that rules the Mind, please be open to changing your mind!   Remember, our minds filter the world, giving us our perspective on life.   As you change your perspective, you enlarge your life.   We need to re-orient ourselves in regards to our whole way of living.   We need to re-connect to our natural Mind, the Mind that is connected with the archetypal principles of Life.

Desire begins in the Mind.   And it is the Mind to which we look during the Sun's journey through Gemini.   A mind is a terrible thing to waste as we all know, so what's on your mind? What do you desire? Do you know your own Mind? Do you own your own Mind?   Do you realize the importance of the words you use?   Do you understand what words mean?   These are questions we need to ask for this Gemini New Moon, which is also a partial solar eclipse.  

As Oprah so eloquently said on her final show, which is a testimony to the right use of the Higher Mind and our ability to communicate the Truth, what we think and how we understand our life experiences are conditioned by our sense of self-worth.   With Jupiter moving into Taurus, the sign of self-worth, on June 4, if you don't know your own self-worth, it's time to expand your awareness and discover that you are worthy -- worthy of love, worthy of respect, worthy of freedom!

You might be wondering why I'm talking about freedom in relationship to this solar eclipse.   If our thoughts create our reality, then it is how we think of ourselves and our society that will either give us freedom or give us death.

The Sabian symbol for 12*Gemini is: A black girl fights for her independence in the City.   If this isn't a great symbol for Oprah's life and work, I don't know what is.   I use Oprah as an example because now that her show is over after 25 years, her wish for her viewers is to live our unique life's purpose.    Oprah herself is the great communicator of truth for us all, with her Sun conjunct Venus in Aquarius, her Moon in Sagitarrius (just opposite this solar eclipse), her midheaven (her role in society) in Gemini the journalist/communicator, with Jupiter (higher truth/Mind) in Gemini up there in her 10th house and Mercury, the ruler of Gemini, in Aquarius.   If you know astrology, you'll see that Oprah's purpose is spelled out in her birth chart, just as each of our birth charts point to our purpose.

For the rest of us, this symbol speaks to where this eclipse finds us now.   Each of us has that inner feminine spirit that is fighting for independence and equality.   Patriarchy does not want to validate the feeling, intuitive wisdom of our souls, our inner feminine consciousness, keeping us from the freedom to be ourselves and stand in our own truths.   That's why so many of us feel unworthy.     This black, soulful, earthy girl within each of us seeks our freedom, both our inner freedom from the demons of self-doubt, shame, fear and despair; and our outer freedom from the tyranny and greed of our corporate culture, from the hypocrisy of our political leaders who work for those corporations instead of representing us, and from the lies and psychic manipulations of our media.   This black girl wants us to stand up with her and seek our freedom!

This solar eclipse signals the moment, the sudden shift in our consciousness that can give rise to a new collective Mind.   We the People have to understand that we are not really free, although the collective American "spin' would have us believe that we are.   We live in a deadening culture that takes us away from our deepest soul nature and values and which cuts us off from the source of all good things in life -- the Earth.   Our minds have been trained by cultural beliefs that point us away from our own wisdom and toward collective slogans.   We have not been taught how to think for ourselves, and our imaginations have been colonized by our mass media.   Because our minds are not free, we allow our out-of-control death culture to poison the air we breathe, the water we need for life, the Earth which grows our food, the creativity within our souls.     Tea-baggers, thinking they are patriots, support the very corporate vision that the original patriots were fighting against with their civil disobedience at the Boston Tea Party.

If Patrick Henry and our American forebearers could fight for their freedom and win, we can too.   If this "black girl' can fight for her independence, we have to stand with her.   By doing nothing, by not changing how we think about our world, we stand with the oppressors who deny global warming (despite devastating tornadoes, floods, record temperatures and droughts), who continue creating wars, who want to control our private choices, who create financial ruin and walk away with all the world's wealth.     

The eclipses will continue in the signs of Gemini/Sagittarius until May 2013, presenting us with the opportunity to change our minds and stand for the eternal Truths of Life.    The first thing we need to do is get over our fear of death, because until we do, we will continue to create death all around us.   The world's religions (ruled by Jupiter and Sagittarius) have created a deep fear within us of death and dying.   The Sagittarius North Node is pulling us to new spiritual understandings of life, opening us to the spirituality of the Earth and the Soul.

So we can get over our fear of death by looking around and seeing that the Earth is promising us a re-birth (and isn't that what Jesus' resurrection was all about?).   Just as the Moon cycle encompasses birth, growth, fulfillment, harvest and death followed by re-birth, and the seasons in their rounds do the same, so our souls do get re-born.    This is the North Node Sagittarian Truth we need to embrace first.   We need to say with the ancient Celts and Native Americans -- it is a good day to die!   If we can learn to think that way, we can change how we approach changing our world.   For if we cannot accept death as a natural and necessary part of life, we will not have the courage to allow for the death of our patriarchal culture.   And without that death, there will be no new life.
